It's Time to Celebrate

I'm loving Papertrey's new Good Times stamp set -- perfect for any occasion to celebrate! Birthdays, an anniversary, great report cards, happy medical news, and a work promotion have all been on my family's radar recently.

I stamped a white card panel with various images from the set using Lemon Tart, Berry Sorbet, Limeade Ice, Tropical Teal, and Ocean Tides inks, added a length of looped thread, a stamped sentiment, and last, the celebrate die-cut, which was cut from Papertrey's Luxe Silver card stock.

Along the bottom is a strip of black and white striped paper from the Black and White All Over paper collection. Super quick and easy!

A Colorful Hello

It's been a very watercolor-y weekend in the studio! I had tons of fun making all sorts of watercolored backgrounds, many of which will show up during Reverse Confetti's upcoming July release. Peeks begin July 5. I'm super excited to share with you the new stamp sets and dies!

I've been crazy inspired lately by the vibrant watercoloring in so many of Yoonsun Hur's gorgeous creations (here, here, and here, just to link to a few). I've also found loads of watercolor inspiration at Shutterstock, just by browsing through the stock art there. (Search on "watercolor background," "watercolor splash," and "watercolor stripes," just to name a few good ones.)

The rainbow stripes in today's card were inspired specifically by this stock art. Mine is a little more vibrant, thanks to the very pigmented Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors I chose to use, and a little more messy (on purpose). I was playing around with layering and blending, experimenting with adding stripes both before and after the stripe above or below had fully dried, and experimenting with adding water droplets. Just messing around, but I liked the results enough to turn it into a card.

The cloud transparency is the Simply Spring Clouds Transparency by Bella Boulevard.

I die-cut three hellos using Reverse Confetti's Hello Confetti Cuts, adhered them together, and then stitched through the die-cut, the transparency, and the rainbow panel. Last, I added some large clear sequins for some extra pizzazz.

Enjoy the Adventure

Popping in today with another card I made with the nautical products from Papertrey's June release. The sailboat and sentiment are both from Ahoy. I had fun layering the negative pieces from the new Waves Cover Plate die. The cloudy background was done with the Blue Skies Cover Plate and individual clouds from the Blue Skies die set. The sun was die-cut with the Blue Skies Rays Cover Plate out of white card stock, then sponged with Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise inks.

I'm linking this one up to this week's CASology nautical challenge:

Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear

I absolutely adore the sentiments and font combinations in Reverse Confetti's God is Good stamp set from the May release. This one, in particular, is so perfect for anyone going through any type of struggle.

The papers are from an older Authentique 6x6 collection called Harmony.

Wood veneer embellishments are by Studio Calico.

My Country 'Tis of Thee

I'm on the Taylored Expressions blog today. For those in the U.S., Independence Day is right around the corner, so I've put together a patriotic red/white/blue number for today. Hope you'll join me over there!

Summer Lovin - June SFYTT

Today is the last day of school for my kids, and I am soooo ready! Probably more than they are even!

I made today's card using Reverse Confetti's June Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT). Play along by June 29 for a chance to win a $20 Reverse Confetti gift certificate!

I got a little ombre effect using two different ink colors and re-stamping using the MISTI.
